Teaching cell transport can be difficult but teaching it to ESL ELL students adds an extra challenge. This cell transport vocabulary manipulative can be used as a cut and paste activity or as a card manipulative. Both definitions and images are used to help students understand the terminology used in this unit. Both active and passive transport are covered along with cell membrane structure (14 terms). One version is in English only. The other has all or portions of the definition translated (Spanish). A third version allows you to add your own translations. Beginner ESL students can work with the translated version first then move on to the English version to build their comprehension skills.
