Graphing in science can be challenging. This lesson is partially translated to Spanish for ESL students. Images provide extra support for learning the concepts. Both a PowerPoint and notes set for students is included along with a practice worksheet. Teacher help and suggestions are included in the notes section of the PowerPoint.
Show your students a quick and easy way to read and interpret graphs. Students often misinterpret information because they rush or make assumptions when using graphs. This activity shows students how to determine the difference between dependent and independent variables and how to use the I2 strategy (Identify and Interpret) to read graphs correctly. Examples are given and imagery is used to reinforce the concepts.
How to use it:
Introduction to concept
Small group work
Independent practice/work
