To promote lab safety, students need to know where safety equipment is located and its purpose. ESL students may have a difficult time understanding some of the terminology. These cards include images, simple vocabulary, complete and partial translation to help ESL students (Spanish) master this concept. Teaching ESL students can be challenging, especially when different levels of proficiency are in the same class. It has even more challenges when you are teaching science, a language of its own! This lesson will help you help them!

How to use it:
  • Small group work

When introducing the terms use the set of cards with translations first, once students can match all cards successfully, then use the set of cards with only key terms translated, then use those without translations.
 
Print the cards on cardstock, cut and place in bags for student use.
